Q. Why do the price sheets show firm prices only for component kits and not for completely finished yachts?

A. All the fully finished yachts that we build are customized to meet the needs of the individual owner. This means that the level of finish and the quantity of the equipment installed on each yacht varies considerably, with a consequent difference in price. We are able to quote firm prices on fully or partially completed yachts after discussions with a prospective owner.

Q. Can I get any layout that I want?

A . The answer is a qualified yes. All Spencer yachts are custom built and tailored to the tastes and requirements of the individual purchaser. We work with the owners and develop custom interior and deck layout plans that meet their needs and desires.
The limitation on freedom of design is that certain structural standards have to be met in order to ensure a strong and seaworthy vessel. During the design process we ensure that these standards are met.

Q. Can I choose and have my favorite brands of gear and equipment installed on my boat?

A. Yes. We have accounts with most of the major equipment suppliers and we can supply most requested items at very competitive prices.

Q. How long will it take to build my yacht after I place my order?

A. This depends on the stage of completion that the owner requires. Hull and deck kits can be produced in 2 to 4 months; a completely finished boat will take from 6 to 10 months.

Q. You normally install Isuzu engines in the yachts that you build, can I have a different make of engine, such as a Yanmar, installed in my boat?

A. Yes. We can supply and install the engine of your choice.
